Two very popular players made their first appearance at a Reds Reunion. Reds center Howie Menard received a rousing welcome as did NHL Hall of Famer Allan Stanley, who played with the Reds from 1946 thru 1949.
Tim Army, Providence College hockey coach at the time, was a special guest speaker of the day and he was very well received.
This year’s Tops Award winners were popular Reds players and teammates, Serge Boudreault and Ross Brooks. Both Ross and Serge made Rhode Island home after their playing days. And both gave of their time and talents coaching high school hockey teams – Ross in Lincoln and Serge in Cumberland.
