Our Organization
The Rhode Island Reds Heritage Society was formed in 2000 to honor and to preserve the fabled 51-year history of the Reds.
The organization accomplishes this mission by:
- Acquiring and organizing a large and loyal following to share, foster and promote the team’s glorious history
- Researching and cataloging photos and data that chronicle the Red’s players and history
- Collecting and displaying Reds memorabilia and artifacts that represent the team’s rich heritage
- Honoring past Reds players, administrators and others once associated with the team
- Promoting youth hockey by organizing skills camps and recognizing youth hockey standouts
A New Partnership

The event also cemented our partnership with the Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame, which had hosted its 2022 Induction Ceremonies the night before and in which 11 Reds players and officials are enshrined. The Heritage Society is now working with the Hall towards our common goal: to grow the game by preserving and showcasing the rich history and heritage of the game of hockey in our state while recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of players, coaches, administrators, officials and teams.
That effort began with the installation of the Hall’s downtown Providence displays and interactive “Wall of Fame”, located at the Amica Mutual Pavilion alongside the Reds kiosk cluster, which celebrates the illustrious and storied history of the team. The HOF kiosk features images and videos showcasing the greatest names in Rhode Island hockey history, including many Reds, and a timeline of our state’s most significant hockey milestones and contributions to the game.
Our next objective is building a Museum to pay perpetual tribute to the Reds and Rhode Island’s illustrious and pioneering hockey history.
