Anthony “Tony” Featherstone

An honored inductee of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of fame, Tony Featherstone was selected 7th overall in the 1969 NHL Draft by the Oakland Seals. The Seals moved him to Providence for the 1969-70 season and became a fan favorite,].

He scored a productive 15 goals and 35 assists for the Reds patrolling right wing, earning himself a pot with the NHL’s California Golden Seals the following season. He was the traded to the Montreal Canadiens in 1971.

Again, Tony was moved to the AHL, this time with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs, which captured the Calder Cup ion 1972. However, Tony would have a career year the following season with the Voyageurs, netting 59 goals and 67 assists by season’s end.

He finished his career with the Minnesota North Stars and retiring with the WHA’s Toronto Toros after the 1976 season.
