Ron was a fan favorite from the very start when he suited up with the Reds in the 1970-71 season. He would go on to tally 31 goals in that first of three campaigns with the roosters, tied for the team league with Randy Rota by season\u2019s end.<\/p>\n

Not one to back down when the going got rough, the diminutive left wing continued his torrid goal scoring the following year while leading the team with 147 penalty minutes.<\/p>\n

Originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 1960 NHL Entry Draft, he started his pro career with the Forth Worth Wings in the CHL. In 1972, after his three seasons in Providence, Ron was selected by the Los Angeles Sharks of the fledgling World Hockey Association in the leagues General Player Draft. Two years later, he signed with the AHL\u2019s Rochester Americans where he would play his final six seasons as a pro and make an indelible mark on the Amerks fan base.<\/p>\n

Ron was elected into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame in 1992.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
